Protection Types

A general list if the essential armor gems to protect your self within the hive of gorgons

Throughout the dungeon, you’ll want to equip full Onyx gems to maximize physical resistance, paired with a Strike Amulet for added protection against the majority of enemies. However, for the Typhon and Medusa encounters, you’ll need to adjust your loadout by switching to a Nature Amulet and slotting a Nature gem into two pieces of your armor. This swap will help mitigate the heavy nature damage dealt by these bosses, giving you a crucial defensive edge when facing their unique mechanics. If you are going ranged in the last boss just go full nature protection. For tanks Run full nature in armor for second and last boss with ideally full slash conditioning for second boss and strike conditioning for first and last boss.

Echidna

Echidna is the first boss in the raid, and the fight revolves around a balance of stamina management and arena mechanics. This is a stamina break boss, meaning Echidna takes reduced damage until you successfully break its stamina. One of the key mechanics to watch out for is the crystal spawns scattered around the arena. Early on, you can largely ignore these crystals, only focusing on destroying the ones that spawn close to your group to avoid them exploding on you. However, once Echidna reaches around 50% health, it will detonate all remaining crystals at once. From this point forward, it’s crucial to clear all crystals as they appear to prevent a devastating explosion.

A strategic tip: if Echidna is close to a stamina break and hasn’t spawned crystals in a while, hold off on breaking its stamina until you’ve cleared the arena of crystals. This way, your team can safely break stamina and then go all-in on damage without the threat of an imminent explosion.

Additionally, there’s a mechanic involving pillars that spawn throughout the fight. Attacking from these pillars grants a significant boost to stamina damage, making them a perfect spot for ranged players to focus their attacks. Just be aware of Echidna's tail swipe and jumping mechanics, which you’ll need to dodge by timing your roll just before it lands. Proper positioning and awareness will make this phase much more manageable.

Typhoon

Typhon has three phases, triggered at 70% and 30% health, where he transforms the arena by covering it in thorns and moves to a new section. During each phase, Typhon primarily focuses on attacking the tank, but he has several key mechanics the entire team needs to manage.

One of Typhon's primary mechanics involves spawning adds, including 2-3 named mobs and spiders. It’s crucial for your team to focus down the named mobs quickly, as failing to do so allows Typhon to absorb them and empower himself, which increases his damage output. There are two strategies to handle this:

  1. Focus Closest Mob First: Your team can prioritize killing the closest wolf or Corvid, with a shot-caller designating the next target.

  2. Tank Aggro Strategy: The tank pulls the melee mobs, dragging them close to the boss, while DPS players focus on the ranged Corvids, which tend to jump away. Once the Corvids are down, your team can shift focus to the wolves near the boss.

With enough DPS, your team should aim to phase Typhon after a single mob spawn in fiest and last section of the arena with 2 spawns in the middle.

Typhon has several additional mechanics to manage:

  • Charge Mechanic: Typhon will occasionally run to the center of the arena and mark a player with a symbol over their head, indicating he’s about to charge at them. The marked player needs to quickly hide behind a pillar to avoid dyiing, while the rest of the team can continue DPSing.

  • Thorn Spikes Mechanic: Another mechanic marks 2-3 players, causing thorns to spike up from the ground under their feet. These players need to immediately move away from the group and run around until the spikes stop spawning to avoid damaging their teammates.

  • Thorn Floor Mechanic: Typhon will cover one-third of the arena floor in red, signaling that thorns are about to spawn in that area. Players need to quickly move out of the red zone until it clears to avoid taking heavy damage.

At each phase breakpoint (70% and 30%), Typhon will move to the next section of the arena. You’ll encounter one mob phase in the first area, two in the second, and one in the final area. Timing your DPS and handling these mechanics efficiently is key to defeating Typhon with minimal risk to your team.

The Maze

The maze can seem confusing at first, but it's actually quite simple once you understand the mechanics. While you can split into different groups, the easiest approach is to have the main tank and an off-tank kite the two Medusa snakes around the area. Meanwhile, the rest of the team should work their way around the maze anti-clockwise, focusing on killing the spiders and activating platforms.

There are three platforms to activate: two on the right side and one on the left. Once all three are activated, the door to the next area will open. Keeping the Medusa snakes distracted with the tanks will give your DPS enough time to handle the adds and mechanics without being overwhelmed, ensuring a smooth progression through the maze.

Cleanse Room

In the cleanse room, two DPS players should be assigned to cleanse the pillars, while one focuses on cleansing the floor. Meanwhile, the rest of the team should focus on killing the adds that spawn as you enter the room. Start by clearing the adds on the left side, then work your way around the arena counterclockwise, cleansing each pillar. Once all pillars are cleansed, the player assigned to the floor can complete the final cleanse, allowing the team to progress. Efficient coordination between the DPS and add-clearing team is crucial for a smooth run.

Medusa Broodmother

Medusa Broodmother can be a tricky and chaotic boss, but once you understand the mechanics, she becomes much easier to control. The first 20% of the fight is straightforward—melee and deal as much damage as possible until she reaches 80% health. At this point, eggs will begin to spawn, and if they’re near the boss, the tank should move her away to avoid complications.

The easiest way to manage this phase is by switching to a full-ranged strategy. Split your group into two: Group one should position on the left, and group two on the right, near the cleanse fountains. From here, your DPS can safely focus on damaging the boss, while the main healer focuses on the tank and off-healers focus on the DPS. Designate two DPS players to handle cleanse duties, as there are mechanics that require immediate cleansing.

Watch out for two primary debuffs:

  1. White Dust/Fog: If you stand in this too long, it will stun you until cleansed.

  2. Poison Stacks: These need to be cleansed as they stack and can overwhelm players.

The tank should remain on a platform so they can easily cleanse themselves by throwing water onto the ground. Be cautious not to throw cleanse water on the boss, as it will trigger her to charge. Continue to focus on ranged attacks, and make sure to prioritize destroying flowers as soon as they spawn. There is one flower on the boss's back and four on the ceiling—take these out quickly to avoid getting overwhelmed.

When eggs spawn, have all DPS focus on the same egg, as they heal over time. Trash mobs will also appear, but the priority for DPS should be:

  1. Flowers

  2. Eggs

  3. Trash Mobs

  4. Boss

This order ensures smooth gameplay and prevents the raid from being overwhelmed by adds or poison mechanics. Additionally, be aware of a mechanic where dangerous pollen explosions occur in the center of the arena when the top flowers spawn. Be sure to move out of the center to avoid this damage.

By following this strategy and managing the cleanse mechanics effectively, you’ll have much smoother control over the fight, making it far less chaotic.
