When running mutations we recommend running full elemental protection to match the dungeon mutation , there are some bosses we recommend switching gear sets which is discussed in the dungeon section.

You want to be hitting at least 63% mutation element protection, when it comes to running a tower shield you will look at running either the same elemental protection or something that will assist more eg. void protection shield in corrupted dungeons, switching to a physical protection if required like slash on Thorpe.
