Flail Void Gauntlet - Battlemage Support

Flail Void Gauntlet (FL VG) is a hybrid support build that focuses on debuffing enemies and buffing allies. This weapon combination excels in med-large scale combat. The key to this build is understanding when to flail (tank/support) and when to void gauntlet (support/dps). Flail is best to keep allies alive while void gauntlet is best used to counter enemies and self sustain through blooddrinker.

Attributes

With your attribute split you want to be focusing going 350 focus and put the rest into constitution. If you are dying too much another option is dropping focus down to 200 and increasing the constitution further.

Consumes

We run fire absorption potions with lasting consumption bags to buff the duration to 45 seconds. With a 90 second cd, this gave us 15% fire resistance with 50% uptime! We also use health, mana, and regeneration potions. Regeneration potions also give us mana, which is very useful for the void gauntlet. If you run out of mana you can always trade health for mana using the block button on void gauntlet.

Armor

This build focuses on maximizing our refreshing while still having decent defensive perk options. Without defensive perks, this build can have A LOT of deaths.

The must haves for this build are scream, oblivion, and shield of suppression. Without these the build does not feel nearly as powerful and can fall flat at times.

Weapons

The power stone’s weaken will work when we use our flail and the cooldown is specific to each person instead of us. This makes the fl/vg combo a lot more powerful than it was in previous patches. Shield of suppression once again is a fantastic option due to the ability to have slash shield ward on a kite shield and refreshing ward. Both of these perks are illegal and are insane to have on a shield.

Heartgems

You must run stoneform with this build due to us not having another way to live effectively. Since we have 350 focus when we use our ult we’ll gain a lot of cooldowns. It can be useful to use this early as a passive grit and cooldown reduction.

Skill Tree

Smite is used as a stagger and to elongate cooldowns while vortex is used as a cleanse and speed boost. Trip is mostly taken to allow us to get passive perks, while also having decent utility. On the void gauntlet side we take standard perks except for the dodge heal perk due to the large amount of focus that we have.
